The Journey
If you asked me to go to a yoga class years ago the answer would have been a solid no, I wasn’t interested. That all changed three years ago in May 2022. A friend of mine runs a festival called Crafty Camping on his land in Somerset and he invited me to come along and take part in Kundalini Yoga class, in his yurt, which was being taught by his old – and subsequently my – teacher. I decided to go with an open mind. I came out of the class with eyes as wide as saucers, apparently. Went home and processed what had just happened to me. Sat in my chair for about an hour immersed in the energy, my energy that had been awakened. I wanted to find out more about this.
After that I started to attend classes regularly and began to think about taking my practice a bit further especially when I was travelling and saw yoga classes available.
The following year I took part in a KRI Level 2 course module (of which there are 5) ‘Mind and Meditation’ which was open to newcomers. It was intense but so rewarding spiritually especially the two and a half hour meditation!
I enrolled on the 220 hour KRI level one teacher training course later on in the year and qualified in September 2024. During that summer I completed another module of the level 2 course ‘Conscious Communication.’
2025 has seen me teach a class as part of a Nadi Gathering in Colombia. Starting the idea of teaching and travelling abroad which I had a couple years back, and I am currently completing a KRI level 2 module ‘Authentic Relationships.’
Kundalini yoga has opened a lot of internal doors, given me an awareness of mind, body and soul that I never would have thought and has transformed my life for the better. I am continuing to expand my knowledge of the teachings through study, practice and teaching others.
May the Journey continue.
